Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian and TV personality popular as the host of The Talk, a popular talk show on daytime television. Born in Arkansas she grew up in Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl is a member of a troubled family. Sheryl was raised by her sister Frankie. Frankie had suffered from her own illness called Polio. She was in problems with her mother as she was growing up. Sheryl alleges that, at one point, her mother knifed her father after he got too intimate with her. Sheryl was a college graduate when she was drafted into the military. But, she was interested in the field of comedy. She was chosen as the first woman to be a finalist in the Miller Lite Comedy Search, held in 1989. Her first TV career in 1992 appearing as a frequently performing comedian on HBO's comedy show Def Comedy Jam. She hosted a show on television in the year 2000 on Oh Drama! She is currently a guest co-host for the Talk talk show since the year 2011. She has also been in fictional roles on shows including Bulworth Nikki and Beauty Shop.
